2.08 Sructural Prelirrinary Design
Based on the selected proposed action, detailed structural design will be performed,
including repairs to existing members (if necessary), removal of extraneous existing
members (as needed) and addition of new structural members (as required). CMA Engineers
will provide preliminary design parameters including layout geometry, construction details,
notes, specifications, and supporting design calculations for the selected structural

e Discussion of potential impacts related to each alternative (historical,
environmental, utilities, existing structures, Right-of-Way, etc.),

® Conceptual cost estimate, and
® Conceptual level plans for alternatives (typical section, general roll plan).

The Alternatives Analysis process will be used to recommend the most viable and
preferred alternative to advance to Preliminary Design phase. Once a proposed action is
selected by the City, the project can proceed to documenting the process for inclusion in
the final Engineering Study report.
