Athletic Field Renovations

Terracon has completed subsurface investigations and provided design criteria for athletic field renovations throughout
New England. Services we have provided include subsurface characterization and in-situ infiltration testing for design
of athletic field facilities. Site conditions encountered vary from deep clay deposits, to urban fill, to shallow till and bed-
rock. Design recommendations have included shallow spread footings, drilled piers, in-situ infiltration rates for design

of synthetic turf drainage, and field under drains.

Dartmouth College Baseball Field

Hanover, New Hampshire

Terracon completed subsurface investigations, design criteria, and infiltration
testing in connection with the design and construction of the baseball stadium at
Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. The project consisted of con-

structing a synthetic turf field with a grandstand and press box.

Site concerns included existing fill overlying glaciolacustrine deposits of silt and
clay to depths of over 80 feet, and groundwater at depths of 5 feet, and under-
ground steam pipes and other utilities in close proximity to the proposed struc-
tures. Design recommendations included spread footing foundations, drilled
pier foundations, and athletic field under drains due to the low permeability of

the underlying clayey soil.

Terracon completed subsurface investigations and provided design criteria in
connection with the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Alumni Field Renovation
project in Worcester, Massachusetts. The project consisted of constructing new
monopole-type light poles, a new structural bleacher system, and replacing the

existing turf field with a new synthetic turf system.

Site concerns included existing fill and relatively shallow bedrock. Design rec-
ommendations included bearing capacity and settlement estimates for the struc-

tural bleacher system; and drilled pier design parameters for light tower design.

1. The undersigned Vendor proposes and agrees, if this BID is accepted, to enter into an agreement with
the City in the form included in the BID Documents to perform all Work as specified or indicated in the
BID Documents for the prices and within the times indicated in this BID and in accordance with the other
terms and conditions of the BID Documents.

2. The Vendor accepts all of the terms and conditions of the Advertisement or Request for BID and
Instructions for Bidders, including without limitation those dealing with the disposition of Security. The
bid will remain subject to acceptance for ninety 90 days after the day of bid opening, or for such longer
period of time that Vendor may agree to in writing upon request of the City.

3. In submitting this BID, Vendor represents, as set forth in the Agreement, that:

C. Vendor is familiar with and is satisfied as to all federal, state and local Laws and Regulations
that may affect cost, progress and performance of the Work.

D. Vendor has obtained and carefully studied (or assumes responsibility for having done so) all
additional or supplementary examinations, investigations, explorations, tests, studies and data
concerning conditions (surface, subsurface and Underground Facilities) at or contiguous to the
Site which may affect cost, progress, or performance of the Work or which relate to any aspect
of the means, methods, techniques, sequences, and procedures of construction to be
employed by Vendor, and safety precautions and programs incident thereto.

E. Vendor does not consider that any further examinations, investigations, explorations, tests,
studies, or data are necessary for the determination of this bid for performance of the Work at
the price(s) bid and within the times and in accordance with the other terms and conditions of
the BID Documents.

F. Vendor is aware of the general nature of work to be performed by the City and others at the
Site that relates to the Work as indicated in the BID Documents.

G. Vendor has correlated the information known to Vendor, information and observations
obtained from visits to the Site, reports and drawings identified in the BID Documents, and all
additional examinations, investigations, explorations, tests, studies, and data with the BID
Documents.

H. Vendor has given written notice of all conflicts, errors, ambiguities, or discrepancies that
Vendor has discovered in the BID Documents, and the written resolution thereof by the City is
acceptable to Vendor.

|. The BID Documents are generally sufficient to indicate and convey understanding of all terms
and conditions for performance of the Work for which the BID submitted.

Vendor further represents that this BID genuine and not made in the interest of or on behalf of any
undisclosed individual or entity and is not submitted in conformity with any agreement or rules of any
