Nesra Engineering designed
and provided construction
administration forthis fast pace
design build venture’ with
Heimlich Landscaping and
_ Construction Corporation. The
design and improvements
include two state of the art
rectangular multipurpose
_ synthetic turf fields and a
natural turf softball field. Site
amenities include Musco athletic
~ field lighting, Daktronics
/ scoreboards, engineered
backstop, foul poles, and
landscaping improvements such
as retaining walls with
“ planting beds, elevated natural
spectator viewing areas and walkways. Site challenges include close proximity to a pond and dormitory residences, poor draining
soils and ledge substratum. Nesra conducted a cut and fill analysis to minimize the amount of export material to provide
significant cost savings to the client. Additionally, the existing drainage patterns were determined on site including the
infiltration rates of the sub-soils and utilized in the drainage and field base design. During the construction process a
significant amount of boulders were unearthed, and many were utilized as landscaping features which gave the project a more
natural look.
Nesra provided the design and construction administration for Phase two, which included a new baseball field with irrigation,
scoreboard, bull pens, backstop, portable fencing and drainage improvements.
