The Contractor shall provide and utilize all equipment necessary to perform glove bag
work.

Maximum temperature of components (pipe, ducts, stacks, etc.) allowable for glove bag
Work shall be as specified by glove bag manufacturer.

If pipe insulation is in damaged condition, then this material must be repaired prior to
removal.

b. Asbestos-Containing Electrical Cable Wrap:

Wet and cut cable using mechanical cutting tool, such as bolt cutters.
Encapsulate cut ends, place cut sections into Disposal Bags, and place
packaged waste into an acceptable waste transportation vehicle.

Should the Contractor remove any Non-Friable Asbestos-Containing Material in a
manner which makes the material friable, the Contractor shall be responsible for
handling and disposing of this material as friable Asbestos-Containing Waste at
no additional cost.

the section to fill the area of the removed insulation and seal the insulation within
the section. Allow the mortar to adequately dry.

As each section of material is cut free and properly prepared, remove the sections
from the trench.

Prepared component sections will immediately be placed into an acceptable waste
transport vehicle. No stockpiling of removed components will be allowed outside
of a locked, secure waste transport vehicle.

work without containment structures. The Contractor shall not begin any Work until he
has verified that the excavation (trench) has been adequately shored and that all
pertinent life safety systems are in place. It is the Contractor's responsibility to select the
means and methods to ensure that the release of asbestos fibers into the environment
does not occur and that the procedures are in compliance with governing regulations.

9. Where space allows, provide a separate Decontamination Facility consisting of a
serial arrangement of rooms, holding area, and Wash Room for removal of
equipment and material from the Work Area. Do not allow personnel to enter or

C. A list of telephone numbers for local hospital, location of hospital and/or
emergency squad, local fire department, and the name and telephone
number of the Engineer.

d. A copy of this specification and approved Site Work Plan.

e. A copy of the respirator protection program which conforms to the
requirements of 29 CFR 1926.103.

f. A listing of all employees, by name, social security number and New
Hampshire Asbestos Abatement Worker or Supervisor/Foreperson
Certification Number working on the Project.

of an Equipment Room, Shower Room and Clean Room in series. The Contractor
shall ensure that workers enter and exit the Work Area through the
Decontamination Facility. The Contractor shall provide the following:

Locks to the Work Area and Shower Room, large enough for all workers
to remove and dispose of contaminated protective clothing, and for storage
of contaminated Contractor equipment.

4. Thoroughly clean all surfaces to remove any remaining dirt or grime, being
careful not to wet or damage any electrical equipment.

5. Allow surfaces to completely dry, then inspect them for any visible remaining dirt
or fibrous material.

6. HEPA-vacuum any remaining dirt, residue or fibers using an efficient collection
attachment.
7. Encapsulate all areas where damage has occurred or ACM is otherwise exposed,

including the general work area.

J. All Contractor costs associated with the isolation of electrical systems and installations
of temporary power and lighting must be included in his prices.

K. Where shutdown of electrical equipment is not possible and use of a wet removal
process 1s unsafe, the Contractor shall obtain the approval of EPA and other applicable
agencies to use a "dry" removal procedure.

L. The Contractor shall, at no additional cost, install and provide AC power for the
Engineer to collect air samples, as required.
