After large areas of Asbestos-Containing Materials have been fully wetted and
tested, the asbestos shall be carefully removed in small sections by hand using
suitable tools
As the material is removed, it shall be promptly wetted and packed into Disposal
Bags and/or approved disposable drums. When each bag 1s full, the packaged
material shall be sprayed with amended water, sealed, and transported to a
temporary storage area inside of the Work Area. Accumulations of standing or
free water shall not be allowed to collect on the Work Area floor or ground.
The Asbestos Abatement Contractor shall continuously mist the Work Area and
spray the material to prevent it from drying out and to reduce airborne dust and

Abatement Contractor shall remove all remaining visible and microscopically
detectable material using appropriate tools.
The Asbestos Abatement Contractor shall minimize contamination of the ground,
the excavation floor, the exterior of Disposal Bags and containers, and all other
surfaces within the Work Area. At the end of each shift, all surfaces shall be
cleaned of all materials and then HEPA-vacuumed or wet cleaned and all debris
packaged in Disposal Bags.
Excessive water accumulation or flooding in the Work Area shall require Work to
