To all concerned,

I am against extending the mask mandate past 1/31/22. It never should have been brought back in the first

Subject: Fwd: Can you put this in the Board Packet - oppose O-22-002

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is

Can you place this in the board packet. I forgot to put on my address so the correct version is below
Dear Honorable Board of Alderman members;

Please oppose O-22-002 that allows an Alderman participating in meetings through video
teleconferencing to be the Presiding Officer and conduct the meeting.

As a member of Right-to-Know New Hampshire, we have taken a position this year to
oppose remote meetings that will not have a physical location.

While this ordinance maintains the physical location, it allows the Board chair to
participate remotely, through a video teleconferencing option.

Our current policy allows for board members to participate remotely provided a reason is
stated as to why they cannot be in the physical location. The reason should not simply be
a convenience to stay home. It is understood that those with medical issues, immune
compromised, or mobility issues may need a remote accommodation, but otherwise
healthy appointed or elected representatives should be participating from the physical
location, especially the Board chairs. Once we clear this pandemic, which | am optimistic
we will, full in person participation for elected or appointed people should be expected.

Technology is not perfect and we have witnessed glitches and delays associated with
remote meetings. Board chairs should be in personal face-to-face contact with the board
majority and public to command and controi the meeting.

The sponsors of this legislation are the younger folks who were elected to serve. These
are the folks that t would expect to be in the chamber regularly, not remotely. The younger
folks are the ones missing meetings or using remote access the most. This is concerning.

Please let’s not make this business as usual. Please keep the leadership for our meetings
present with the board majority in a physical location.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Laurie Ortolano

Good Evening Nashua Alderman,
Please Vote No to an extension of the Nashua Mask Mandate.

It has been 2 years, people who want to wear masks do, this isn’t about public health ... it’s about paternalism. Reviews
of Childress et al. & MSEHPA do not satisfy criteria in Nashua’s case to continue your current path of public health
paternalism.

Nashua is not an island, 2 years into this pandemic your Nashua and NH residents are more than aware of what can be
done with regards to coronavirus, again | think your efforts are much better suited to focuses on vaccination education,
availability, testing and responsibility. This would seem to be a better use of resources rather than continuing the special
meetings & hurried agendas with no public input for this never ending Mask Mandate, which to date, you have been
unable to show any tangible data has helped slow the spread, or bend the curve of the Nashua Residents or the School
Children & Staff who just a week ago had 200 plus teachers call out due to illness with a 95% vaccination rate and being
the most masked population in the city.

Please Vote No and allow the Nashua Residents & Business to live their day to day lives as they so chose.

Thank you for your time,

Subject: Please vote against Ordinance 22-002

To: Board of Aldermen <boa@nashuanh.gov>

Board of Aldermen:

I am writing this email to ask the Board of Aldermen to vote against Ordinance 22-002 that
allows an Alderman participating in meetings through video teleconferencing to be the
Presiding Officer and conduct the meeting.

This ordinance is only being done because both Alderwoman Kelly and Aldermen Clemens are
having a hard time going to board meetings. It is the responsibility of both Alderwoman Kelly
and Aldermen Clemons to go to these meetings and conduct business as this is part of the job
requirement especially if they have been elected Chair and Vice Chair of a committee. If
Alderwoman Kelly and Aldermen Clemens find that attending these meetings in person is
infringing on their personal lives, they are free to resign their posts and let other Nashua
residents represent the Nashua residents.

Since the City of Nashua has renovated the Aldermanic Chamber, at taxpayers’ expense, both
Alderwoman Kelly and Aldermen Clemons have had the worst attendance records in 2021 of all

board members.

Out of the 32 meetings since the Aldermanic Chamber open on June 23, 2021, the attendance
for these aldermen is as follows:

Present Out Zoom
Aldermen Kelly 4 14 14
Aldermen Clemons 6 12 14

These actions are not acceptable to the Nashua residents. By physically seeing our Aldermen
interface with other Aldermen allows the elected officials to engage face-to-face, verbal and
non-verbal forms of communication that enhance the public’ understating of the business
conducted and allows members of the public to personally address their officials when the
meeting is over. This is an essential part of the public meetings.

To allow the Aldermen to use Video Teleconferencing to be the Presiding Officer and conduct
the meeting is totally unacceptable. This is no way to conduct business for the City of
Nashua.

It would be a tremendous disservice to the Nashua residents if you allow Ordinance O-22-002
to go through. Part of the responsibility to the Nashua residents is to physically have the Board
of Aldermen attend all meetings of the Board of Aldermen and that is why the Nashua
taxpayers pay a stipend to all board members.

Subject: Stop the Mask Mandate

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is

The Board of Aldermen,

lam requesting that the board vote against extending the mask ordinance to
the City of Nashua. As the real science is now telling citizens, masks are useless
however the City of Nashua Board of Health still wants the residents to wear
masks.

All that the City of Nashua is doing is hurting both their Nashua residents and
small businesses within Nashua.

It is unbelievable that within the City of Nashua you can go to a bar, restaurant
and/or casinos and not wear a mask however if you want to go to any other
stores, you need a mask. Can anyone tell me the “science” that states that the
virus does not enter into bars, restaurants and/or casinos because | have been
looking over the internet and have found nothing on this science.

It is the Board of Aldermen duty to say that the Nashua residents have had
enough and now want to continue living our lives. | am asking the Board of
Aldermen not to extend the mask ordinance within the City of Nashua.
