alarm fires and we need coverage for the city, the Deputies like myself would come back from off duty and use this vehicle
to cover the city. Then potentially if another fire were to happen, we would even need another vehicle for the subsequent
Deputies to come back and respond as well. So to call it a “reserve” is really not the best explanation of what this vehicle
does. So we do have to keep vehicles that are in good condition and able to be used.

Alderman Gouveia

Thank you.

Mayor Donchess

Anyone else? All right, could the Clerk please call the roll?
A viva voce roll call was taken which resulted as follows:

Yea: Alderman Klee, Alderman Comeau, Alderman Gouveia, Alderman Clemons,

MOTION CARRIED

From: Kelly Parkinson, Purchasing Manager
Re: DPW Facility Design Services Change Order #2 in the amount not to exceed $37,000 funded from 53107
Architect & Engineering Services/Bond (Admin./Engineering)

MOTION BY ALDERMAN GOUVEIA TO ACCEPT, PLACE ON FILE AND APPROVE CHANGE ORDER #2 FOR
UNFORESEEN MISCELLANEOUS COSTS AND ADDITIONAL WORK THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL
SCOPE OF WORK WITH HKT ARCHITECTS, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $37,000. FUNDING THROUGH
DEPARTMENT: 160 ADMIN/ENGINEERING; FUND: 53107 ARCHITECT & ENGINEERING SERVICES/BOND, BY
ROLL CALL

ON THE QUESTION

Mayor Donchess

| believe Mr. Cummings is here on this. Could you give us an overview?

Tim Cummings, Economic Development Director

Yes happy to. For the record, Tim Cummings, Director of Economic Development. What you have before you this
evening is a change order for $37,000 for miscellaneous unanticipated expenses that came up during the design process
for the DPW administrative office building. All these expenses are contemplated and anticipated in the total project
budget which we're staying within but they weren’t originally counted for in the original contract scope. Most of the work
are small housekeeping type matters like $3,000 for an existing conditions compilation plan, moving of the building after
we had one of our committee meetings lately from where it was original proposed, some additional comments and
questions that came from the State permitting office that needed to be address. So all these miscellaneous items in total
add up to $37,000 in design changes.

Mayor Donchess

All right. Questions, comments?
Alderman Klee
Thank you again Mr. Mayor. Director Cummings | did hear you correctly. You said that although they weren't anticipated

and weren't part of the original project scope but they are within the budget. So you’re not asking to come in for any
additional monies. You’ve already had budgeted for this as unanticipated costs is that correct? Did | hear that correctly?

Recognition

| Honoring the United Way of Greater Nashua

Whereas The Mayor’s Volunteer Recognition Committee is proud to present the
2021 Gate City Light Award to the United Way of Greater Nashua. This
award is given yearly to a local organization or nonprofit for giving their
time in the spirit of the community and for making significant
contributions to the people of Nashua. This year, the United Way has done
that and more; and

P9hereag Throughout the pandemic, the United Way and its dedicated volunteers
stepped up to help when it was needed most. More than 10,000 food items
were collected at several food drives; 15 pop-up food pantries served
8,000 people; More than 250,000 facemasks were handed out to the
public and volunteers also supported COVID-19 testing and vaccination
clinics. In addition, United Way volunteers assisted with refurbishing 750
laptops for local students to use in remote-learning; implemented a
volunteer school tutoring program; packaged and distributed more than
500 gallons of hand sanitizer and so much more; and

P9hereag This is the first time the United Way has received the Gate City Light
Award. It is certainly well-deserved for their continuous commitment to
our community. Since its founding in 1930, the United Way has kept up
its mission to serve Greater Nashua, investing in the health, education
and economic mobility of all; and

Whereas It is with great pleasure that we honor this organization and its leadership
team — Mike Apfelberg, Sara Ceaser, Liz Fitzgerald and Samantha
Cassista; Board of Directors and many amazing volunteers for all that you
do; and
How,
Therefore: I, Jim Donchess,s MAYOR OF THE CITY OF NASHUA, NEW
HAMPSHIRE, on the 25” of May 2021, do hereby recognize the

United Way of Greater Nashua for its unwavering dedication to our

community. Congratulations on this award!

Jim Donchess, Mayor
City of Nashua, New Hampshire

Subject: Nashua NH Mask Ordinance

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is unknown.

To whom it may concern:

Please consider loosening the restrictions for Nashua NH residence when you revisit the mask ordinance. With our
vulnerable population vaccinated, and appointments available for 16+, keeping restrictions on people who have been
vaccinated will only deter more people from being vaccinated in the future. | am 35, healthy, and fully vaccinated. | was
able to get an appointment for my first dose on April 6th, which is 6 days after 30+ opened up for appointments.

At this point, the people who want to be vaccinated, will be. Keeping restrictions on a population who have done
what is needed for their community will only make people feel hopeless that this will never end. Masks were great when
we did not have a vaccine, now that it is readily available it’s time to slowly get back to normal.

Thank you for your time and consideration. | appreciate it!
Thank you,

Danielle Mackie
