UNFINISHED BUSINESS — RESOLUTIONS

R-19-183
Endorser: Mayor James Donchess
Alderman-at-Large Michael O’Brien
Alderman Thomas Lopez
Alderman Linda Harriott-Gathright
Alderman-at-Large Brandon Laws
Alderman Richard Dowd
Alderman June Caron
Alderwoman Shoshanna Kelly
Alderwoman Mary Ann Melizzi-Golja
Alderman Jan Schmidt
Alderman-at-Large Lori Wilshire
TO ESTABLISH A COMMITTEE TO DRAFT A MASTER PLAN
Given its second reading;

MOTION BY ALDERWOMAN MELIZZI-GOLJA FOR FINAL PASSAGE OF R-19-183 AS AMENDED
ON THE QUESTION

Alderwoman Melizzi-Golja

If | could please? Just to share what the amendments were, the membership is to include two members of
the Nashua Planning Board and the Planning Board asked us to clarify that they are to be designated by
the Planning Board. We increased the number of residents to nine from the original 7 and so it now reads
“9 residents, 1 from each Ward”. The quorum for the Committee, which is a 19 member Committee, was
identified as being 9. Director Marchant was involved in that conversation. There was concern that if we
went to 11 that the work of the Committee might not get done. We didn’t want to make it any lower
because then it would look like a small group of people might be doing the work of the Committee. So
keeping it as an odd number, 9 was determined appropriated.

Alderman Clemons
Yes just from a parliamentary point | think we need to make a motion to amend.

Alderwoman Melizzi-Golja

Oh you’re right, we do. Correct so make your motion Alderman Clemons.

MOTION BY ALDERMAN CLEMONS TO AMEND R-19-183 AS DESCRIBED BY THE PREVIOUS
SPEAKER TO INCLUDE 2 MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING BOARD DESIGNATED BY THE PLANNING
BOARD CHAIR; INCREASE THE NUMBER OF RESIDENTS TO NINE — ONE RESIDENT FROM EACH
WARD; and ADJUSTING QUORUM TO 9.

ON THE QUESTION

Alderman Klee

Yes I'd like to say that | really appreciate the change to 9 citizens, one from each Ward representing. |
know that was brought up in your Committee and | think it was a really good idea so each Ward is

represented in the Master Plan and | really think that’s a great idea.

MOTION CARRIED
