We do not need the barriers back on Main St! They are a major issue for Police, Fire and EMS. It has been
mentioned many times that they have caused delays in response time. They are an eye sore and make Main St
look like trash. There is no reason seating needs to be extended off the sidewalks. I haven't shopped on Main St
because of them and I don't even use Main St either because of the barriers. With restrictions for covid going
away. There isn't a need for them. You are hurting other businesses on Main St because of them. Spend the
money repairing the streets before making thern lock more like trash.

Please do not bring back the barriers on Main Street. Sidewalk seating for restaurants would be sufficient and not block
traffic and much needed parking spaces.

Thank you.

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is

Good Evening,
I would like to share my opposition for the addition of cones and concrete barriers along Main St in Nashua.

The congestion increased response time of emergency response. Those few minutes may not seem like much,
but if your house is burning or you are in need of an ambulance a few minutes could make all the difference.

Additionally, the concrete barriers are not overly distracting, but the addition of orange barrels, orange cones,
and white cones marking the bike lane make it incredibly hard to see pedestrians who are attempting to cross.

Thank you for reading this email.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Collard

Dear Alderman,

I know the barriers downtown is up for discussion. I just wanted to let you know we frequent the downtown
area on a weekly basis and we are not a fan of the barriers. Most of the time the tables are half empty especially
during the week. I would not mind if they can put some restaurants can put some outside tables against their
buildings, on the sidewalk but the need is no longer there. Traffic was a mess last year and the barriers looked
ugly painted. Then a makeshift bike lane was added which made it look even worse. Now that restaurants can
now have 100% capacity I don't see the point of blocking up lanes of downtown traffic. I also know plenty of
people avoided downtown due to the lack of parking on main street itself and some people really don't feel
comfortable parking at the creepy parking garages especially at night.

Thanks,

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is unknown.
Dear Board of Aldermen,

| understand the topic of whether to continue expanded outdoor dining on Main Street this summer is coming up for a
vote soon, and | am writing to express my support.

My family and | have very much enjoyed the expanded outdoor dining and have found ourselves much more likely to
come downtown with more options available for sitting outside when the weather is nice.

We very much hope the Board of Alderman will vote to continue this in Summer 2022.
Kind Regards

I respectfully ask that the barriers be removed from our downtown. The necessity is no longer there and at this
point they have become a nuisance.

Subject: Downtown Barriers

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is

Good Evening:

| am writing to put forth my opinion regarding the placement of Jersey Barriers on Main Street to
support expanded outdoor dining.

In the spirit of fuil disclosure:

« [donot take advantage of sidewalk dining, but it is something that i support (see below) under
the proper circumstances
e | do go downtown to support other Main Street merchants

Prior to the pandemic, downtown dining appeared to be working just fine, where owners were allowed
to set up tables and chairs on the sidewalk in front of their establishment. If anything, | remember the
City being more restrictive. If | remember correctly, | recall a warm Spring, where downtown
restaurants wanted to put out table and chairs early for St. Patrick's Day. The answer from the City
was NO. Dining was only allowed between certain dates. Let There Be Outdoor Dining! | Nashua,
NH Patch

Now, we seem to be going to the opposite end of the spectrum to accommodate a level of outdoor
dining that | think is not required.

The expanded dining made sense to me when in-door dining was significantly restricted to social
distancing requirements. Businesses would have closed without this accommodation. It was the
neighborly thing to do. But now, those restrictions are no longer there, and it should revert back to
what it was. | also say this because other merchants, who don't serve food and/or drink are being
negatively impacted due to loss of parking on Main Street. How is this fair to them? Other thoughts:

e [am concerned for public safety when both the Fire and Police departments come out so
strongly against this

e |am also not overly impressed with the use of barriers ... even after they were fully decorated
last year. Some looked great, while others looked unsightly ... again: no consistency in how
this was rolled out.

| also don't appreciate the "sneaky way" this all appears to be happening. Even if everything is above
board, it just doesn't seem to be that way, and people are rightfully questioning what is really going
on. What ideas have been presented? Who presented them? etc. etc. etc.
