Analytical Testing Services

The City of Nashua, NH Wastewater Treatment Facility Industrial Pretreament Program requires

3 year pricing on analytical testing for the following analyses and approximate annual quantities:

Metals (including digestion) 700
Cyanide | _ 75
Volatile Organics 20
Semi-Volatile Organics 20
Oil and Grease 50
Phenols _ 25

The awarded laboratory must also include delivery of proper sample container, labeled and
preserved appropriately, and include pickup of sample. They must be certified by NHDES for
wastewater analysis and perform EPA approved methods. All results should be delivered in a
report with QA/QC analyses performed and the EPA methods performed clearly noted. The
turnaround time expected is no more than 10 days. The laboratory must have a quality systems
manual and share that with the City of Nashua. All detection limits should be provided. A fee

schedule for all other analysis that the laboratory provides shall be included as well.

Can you provide a list of the specific metals you will be requiring?

flexible repair couplings, or approved equal, of the appropriate size to fit the external
diameter of each pipe.

B. SEWER AND DRAIN PIPE BEDDING AND SAND BLANKET:
Sewer pipe bedding and sand blanket shall be as specified in Section 02300 EARTHWORK.
C. DUCTILE IRON PIPE:

Ductile iron pipe shall be used at sewer/water line crossings and conform to AWWA
C151/A21.50 & 51, Class 52.

D. SEWER SERVICE SADDLES:

Sewer service saddles shall be Inserta Tee or approved equal, and shall be sized to conform to
the outside diameter and wall thickness of the host pipe. Saddles shall be used only in
locations approved by the Engineer, and shall be installed in accordance with the
manufacturer’s recommendations.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION:

A. — Except as modified herein, installation of the PVC pipe shall be in accordance with ASTM
D2321.

B. Each pipe length shall be inspected before being laid to verify that it is not cracked. Pipe
shall be laid to conform to the lines and grades indicated on the drawings or given by the
Engineer. Each pipe shall be so laid as to form a close joint with the next adjoining pipe and
bring the inverts continuously to the required grade.

C. The pipe shall be bedded and covered with sand blanket as specified under Section 02300,
EARTHWORK, and as detailed on the project plans.

D. The pipe shall not be driven down to grade by striking it with a shovel handle, timber,
rammer, or other unyielding object. When each pipe has been properly bedded, enough of the
backfill material shall be placed and compacted between the pipe and the sides of the trench
to hold the pipe in correct alignment.

E. Before a joint is made, the pipe shall be checked to assure that a close joint with the next
adjoining pipe has been maintained and that inverts are matched and conform to the required
line and grade.

F. _ For pipe placed on crushed stone, immediately after the joint is made, the jointing area shall
be filled with suitable materials so placed and compacted that the ends of either pipe will not
settle under backfill load.
