ORDINANCE
RELATIVE TO TEMPORARY 15-MINUTE PARKING IN 2021
CITY OF NASHUA
In the Year Two Thousand and Twenty-One
WHEREAS, through Governor Sununu’s Executive Orders, the State of New Hampshire
continues to be in a declared state of emergency due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19);
WHEREAS, Governor Sununu’s Emergency Order #52 (An order regarding public
health guidance for business operations and advising Granite Staters that they are safer at home)
has been extended multiple times, most recently through March 26, 2021, and promotes social
distancing;
WHEREAS, the City is seeking to assist restaurants by creating 15-minute parking
spaces to facilitate take-out orders;
WHEREAS, this legislation authorizes such 15-minute parking spaces; and
WHEREAS, similar legislation approved by the City last year (O-20-016 amended) was
very successful.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of
Nashua that the on-street parking spaces depicted on the attached map, which is incorporated
herein, shall be 15-minute free parking from noon to 9 pm daily. 15-minute parking time limits
shall not apply to designated handicap spaces. Existing parking time limits and rates will apply
outside of the noon to 9 pm time frame.
BEIT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon recommendation of the Parking Manager, the
Mayor may approve additional parking spaces as 15-minute parking from noon to 9 pm daily as
necessary.
This legislation shall take effect on March 15, 2021 and shall remain in effect until
midnight November 15, 2021. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are
hereby suspended while this ordinance is in effect.
