8. Finish:

Mix resin and hardener and wet out cloth in accordance with manufactures
recommendations.

Place the wetted cloth around the deflated packer and tie into place with plastic strips.
Winch inflatable packer and repair material into conduit and accurately position.
Inflate the packer, which breaks the ties, and forms the resin impregnated cloth

to the inside of the pipe, excess resin being forced into cracks and open joints.

If steam is used to accelerate cure, start injecting steam and monitor temperature

and pressure. Cure for approximately one hour.

When the resin has cured, the steam is turned off and cold water is injected into

the packer to cool the pipe and repair sleeve. The repair be cooled to 60 F

When the repair has fully cooled, release inflation pressure and pump the water out
of the inflatable packer or expel it using compressed air, or vacuum.

Withdraw inflatable packer and inspect the finished repair using the CCTV.
Remove all equipment from the conduit and pack up.

The finished pipe within a pipe repair shall be as smooth as commercially feasible, with
a smooth transition from the host pipe to the repair pipe and either end. The repair shall
overlap past the defect by at least one foot onto sound pipe at either end.

9. Cleanup:
After all work has been completed, the Contractor will clean up the project area.

Excess material and debris will be disposed of by the Contractor.

10. Final Acceptance:

In addition to any specific acceptance criteria specified in the contract, the following
standards should be met:

a.

Finish:
The finished pipe should be continuous over the length of a defect plus two feet
and be free as practical from significant defects.

Defects:

Any defects which will affect (in the foreseeable future or warranty period) the
integrity of the installed pipe should be repaired at the Contractor's expense, in a
manner mutually agreed upon by the Owner and the Contractor.

Service Connections:
Reinstatement of all building sewer connections must be done neatly and smoothly.

11. Warranty:

Unless otherwise agreed upon prior to bid, the Contractor shall warrant the liner
installation for a period of one year. During the warranty period, any defect which affects the
integrity or strength of the repair shall be repaired at the Contractor's expense in a manner
mutually agreed upon by the Owner and the Contractor.

TO-CURB BASE COURSE AND OVERLAY.

TYPE 1. TEMPORARY TRENCH PAVEMENT

All trenched areas shall be paved with temporary bituminous pavement, 2-inches thick, as
soon as practicable after installation of indrvidual pipeline segments, but no trench shall be
without temporary pavement longer than seven (7) calendar days.

TYPE 2. RECLAMATION WITH CURB-TO-CURB BASE COURSE AND OVERLAY

paved roadway surfaces and the placement of new bituminous to the relevant provisions
under Section 306 of the Standard Specification of NHDOT and as specified in the Contract
Documents.

On specified streets, areas of existing pavement shall be pulverized together with the
underlying base course. The pulverizing operation shall blend the existing pavement and
base course into a homogeneous mass, using the bitumen contained in the pavement as a
stabilizer. The Contractor shall be responsible for reclaiming all existing pavement to a
minimum depth of 13 inches (+/-) or as directed by the Engineer. The quantity of material

Department of Transportation.

Prior to scarifying and pulverizing the existing pavement, the Contractor shall locate and
protect existing drainage and utility structures and underground pipes, culverts, conduits
and other appurtenances to a depth appropriate to allow for the 13 inches (+/-) of
reclamation. If the upper section of utilities is removed to facilitate scarifying and

B. BASE COURSE AND BINDER COURSE PAVEMENT:

1. Immediately prior to installing the base and/or binder course, the trimmed edges shall
be made stable and unyielding, free of loose or broken pieces and all edges shall be
thoroughly broomed clean. Contact surfaces of trench sides, curbings, manholes,
catch basins, or other appurtenant structures in the pavement shall be painted

concrete pavement. Existing pavement shall be removed to a depth of 2 inches at the road
centerline and 3 inches at the curb line.

The equipment shall be capable of accurately and automatically establishing profile grades
along each edge of the machine by referencing from the existing pavement by means of a
ski or matching shoe from an independent grade control and shall have an automatic
system for controlling cross slope at a given rate.

The machine shall be equipped with an integral loading means to immediately remove
material being cut from the surface of the roadway and discharge cuttings into a truck, all in
one operation. All planning machinery shall be equipped with dust-control devices to
prevent any dust produced in the cutting operation from escaping into the air.

The bituminous surfaces being planed and profiled shall be removed to a depth, width,

grade and cross section directed by the Engineer. Loose material resulting from the

The planed surface shall provide a smooth riding surface free from severe gouges,
continuous grooves, ridges, oil film and other imperfections of workmanship and shall have a
uniform surface appearance exclusive of broken or cracked underlying pavement.

All existing pavement around castings shall be removed with hand cold planing equipment or
by the use of hand tools if necessary. Any castings damaged or disturbed shall be
removed and replaced as directed by the Engineer, at the Contractor's expense.

3.06 PAVEMENT PLACEMENT:

A.

3.09

A.

Unless otherwise permitted by the Engineer for particular conditions, only machine
methods of placing the pavement shall be used. The equipment for spreading and finishing
shall be mechanical, self-powered pavers, capable of spreading and finishing the mixture
true to line, grade, width and crown. The mixtures shall be placed and compacted only at
such times as to permit proper inspection and checking by the Engineer.

After the paving mixtures have been properly spread, initial and intermediate compaction
shall be obtained by the use of steel wheel rollers having a weight of not less than 240
pounds per inch width of tread.

Final rolling of the top course or surface treatment pavement shall be performed by a steel
wheel roller weighing not less than 285 pounds per inch width of tread at a mix
temperature and time sufficient to allow for final smoothing of the surface and thorough
compaction.

Immediately after placement of top course or surface treatment pavement, all joints
between the existing and new top course or surface treatment pavements shall be sealed
with hot poured rubberized asphalt sealant meeting the requirements of Federal
Specification SS-S-1401 or SS-S-164.

Where there is no backing for the edges of the curb-to-curb pavement, the Contractor shall
provide a gravel transition. The gravel transition shall be installed immediately after the
pavement is placed, shall be feathered and extend a minimum of 18 inches, and shall be
compacted using the same equipment as for pavement compaction. The gravel shall be
uniformly graded material with a maximum size of 3/8 to 1/2 inch.

When directed by the Engineer, the Contractor shall furnish and install additional paving to
provide satisfactory transition for driveways and walkways impacted by a new curb-to-curb
pavement installation. The transition installation will be considered incidental to the
curb-to-curb pavement installation.

RAISING AND ADJUSTING CASTINGS:

In areas of permanent top course paving, existing municipally-owned catch basin and
manhole castings and valve boxes shall be raised to the proper grade where directed by the
Engineer.

Castings owned by private utilities shall be raised by their own forces. The Contractor
shall be responsible for coordinating this work.
