Why is there still a mask mandate in Nashua?

It is such a brilliant idea to extend a mask mandate that hasn't
done a thing, to slow down a virus that we can't slow down or
stopped. Covid cases and hospitalizations went up with the
mask mandate. That doesn’t look like it to me, that it worked.
Omicron being so much more transmissible, that the poorly
fitted mask most people wear just to uphold the mandate, are
ineffective. lt seems to be a bit of a power grab, knowing all we
know about the Omicron variant, that has ripped through
countries non-stop despite all mitigation strategies. As stated
by many experts, everyone will be exposed to this variant. The
virus is not going away, it will spike once or twice a year. It's
time to let everyone make their own risk management choices.
With vaccines plus the natural immunity that will come quickly
with the high transmission rate of Omicron, while causing mild
symptoms for 99+ % of people should be enough for us all to
get back to normal. We should follow Denmark, who dropped
all restriction. Their Models predicting the flow of Covid-19
have been extremely more accurate and much the best
compared to many other countries.

As realized by the Danish government and, crucially, the vast
majority of its 5.8m citizens, the virus is no longer deemed a
“critical threat to society”

Tyra Grove Krause, director of infection preparedness at the
country’s infectious diseases agency SSI, said there was
nothing for it but to let the new wave “run through the
population”. “With omicron, it is impossible to stop the spread
of infection, even with severe restrictions,

Even if you test positive, there is no longer a legal obligation to
self-isolate, but they do encourage if you have symptoms to
stay home for 3 days.

“Covid is now on pare with the common cold.”

They believe it’s time to live with covid and stop trying to
control something we can't control. Rules just to make rule are
tyrannical. Think of it, full restaurants and bars with people
talking & laughing, shoulder to shoulder at the bar and you
need to wear a mask when you walk in, out and to the
restrooms, really? That's not stopping or slowing and spread of
anything. it's like trying to stop a flood with a box of sponges,
useless. Not really showing good leadership voting this one in
with all that data we now have. We are not going to “Crush the
virus”, we need to live with it, We have no control over it.
Please stop the silly mask mandate now.

Sent from my iPad. To the Mayor and the Aldermen of the City of Nashua: We are writing this letter
as property owners and taxpayers of the building at 51 East Pearl Street that is home to Crosby Bakery, Neverett’s Sew
and Vac, and CJ Clippers. This letter is in reference to the barriers that were on Main Street and side streets this past
summer. The barriers greatly impeded traffic downtown. Sometimes traffic would be held up for a long time, and many
people avoided coming downtown for that reason. We even saw Nashua Fire trucks and ambulances held up in those
jams. There was no piace for
customers of businesses to park due to the barriers, We are vehemently against them returning to downtown this
year.In addition to impeding traffic and parking, the barriers are an eyesore for an otherwise beautiful downtown. Let
me emphasize that we enjoy outside dining, but tables on the sidewalk can provide that just as well. While the barriers
may have had some merit at the beginning of COVID, their usage now is far outweighed by the burden the business
owners are experiencing. We implore you to NOT put up the barriers again and help the many businesses that are

To whom it may concern,

Why do you still have a mask mandate in place for Nashua? Is the air different in Hollis? Why do you have a mask
mandate at gyms? The masks do not work you know it and | know it.When are you lifting the mask mandate? Everyone
knows healthy people IE people who go to the gym will get some form of corona and to them it’s a cold.Please protect
the people who are vulnerable but let the healthy people be free from these tyrannical mask mandates. | never cared
who was Mayor before but myself and lots of other voters do now.

Subject: Barriers

I am writing to let you know that I am against the
barriers being reinstalled for the next three years on
Main St.

I was a proponent for these barriers during COVID
and sent Mayor Donchess a picture of Winter Park
Florida and their success with these barriers for
restaurant dining.

I have friends that both own restaurants and run
businesses in downtown Nashua.

The barriers were unnecessary this year and caused
many downtown businesses financial hardships.

I never shopped downtown this year as I usually do
as I did not want to fight the horrendous backups,
could not find parking, and felt it was dangerous to
exit my vehicle anywhere on the street or side
streets .

Many of the seats outside Surf and other restaurants
that were in the streets remained empty except for a
few nights during the weekends .

I have seen pedestrians almost hit trying to cross the
street as drivers are not paying attention.

The small businesses have definitely felt the loss of
customers walking on the sidewalks and shopping .

I will continue to avoid downtown shopping and
dining if the barriers are reinstalled .

The barriers are creating a nuisance to both drivers
and pedestrians .

Please do not vote to expand the barriers .
