Jonathan Ibarra, Superintendent of Street Department
So we're seeking to encumber these funds out of the Street Department operating budget. This is for materials that we

use on daily operations whether we’re procuring sand, salt, or crushed gravel for any sewer digs, or drain work, or
projects that we’re working on within a department and that includes asphalt. I’m happy to entertain any questions.

Mayor Donchess

Anyone?

Dan Hudson, City Engineer

Sure. So the study has a number of steps to it but they do review — an important aspect is a geotechnical investigation
where they look at subsurface conditions. It was a surprise to me but one of the things as part of this bid being out there
was that there used to be some sewer lagoons in this area. So to plan properly for these fields which would be an
investment above and beyond your typical grass field, a higher level of investigation and planning is required.

different segments to the project. Since the project as a total exceed the $25,000 limit, that’s why we are presenting this
to the Finance Committee so we can remain transparent as much as possible.

Mayor Donchess

Any questions, comments regarding this item?

Alderwoman Lu

Two questions. So this does not need to be approve by us, is that correct?

Alderwoman Lu

of the committee sign it and we give it to the City Treasurer.

So the leachate doesn’t have anything to do with that. Leachate is essentially liquid that comes from the trash

and goes down into a pipe that’s pumped to the treatment plant right now. It goes through the pump station at

Trestle Brook and off to the treatment plant. The groundwater that | was referring to is just regular

groundwater that just needs to be a certain level between the groundwater and the liner — the groundwater

that’s underneath the liner.
