Hello,
I am writing to express my support for the outdoor dining proposal. I work in downtown Nashua and having

outdoor dining/bar options during the summer months has been a gamechanger and reinvigorated Main
Street, in my opinion. I hope that the Board of Aldermen will support this proposal.

Thank you

I’m writing in opposition to a continuation of the outdoor dining. It was great when we needed to support restaurants
but that time has passed. We've been eating indoors for a long time now and the mask mandates are gone. The outdoor
dining took a toll on the non-restaurant businesses downtown, and for a while it was a good trade off. It is no longer -
the charges to benefit a narrow set of businesses at the expense of others is now an injustice.

Hello everyone, I’m passing this along on behalf of Michael Conneely, owner of the Peddler’s Daughter.

“Good afternoon Aldermen,
lam contacting you in regards to the upcoming meeting the board of Alderman have, concerning the decision about the
outside dining downtown for this year and going forward.

| would like to clarify my position as the owner of The Peddler’s Daughter, 48 Main Street: Of course we are in favor of
having the outside dining this year, and we always have been in favor of it.

| would like to add that we have been quoted as saying “that we were not in favor of it for this upcoming year” which is
absolutely untrue. Nobody has approached us about or had a conversation with us about the outside dining.

Neither my bar manager John Plourde nor | were contacted to give a statement.

| understand that the outside dining in Nashua downtown is not popular with everybody, but we feel it creates a great
vibrancy in the downtown area and brings life to the downtown.

Of course this can all be tweaked with some creative and positive thinking.

We are truly grateful that this happened over the last couple of years and it really did save a lot of the restaurants that
are downtown and of course everybody that works in them, but it also really brought a new light to Nashua that we can
think outside the box and forgo the stereatypes that have a negative effect on the progress of a downtown, similar to

what the arts center is going to bring to the community as a whole .

| believe when you make this decision, that it’s got to be fair across-the-board. If one restaurant gets the outside dining
every restaurant should get it.

| appreciate your time and consideration on this important matter.
Thank you.

Slainte,

Michael G Conneeiy

Good Evening,

I'm writing you to express my support for outdoor dining in Nashua. When dinjng establishments thought outside the
box during the pandemic and created outdoor dining space it saved many doors from shutting permanently. It also gave
us all an outlet to be social and maintain a healthy distance. | have often said that the outdoor dining venues were one
of the only positives during these challenging times. I’ve also hoped that they would be permanent. [ often ride my bike
down Main Street during the summer and while the barriers make it a bit challenging, | wouldn’t change a thing. It has
brought life to the downtown area. Seeing people converse while enjoying a meal, a beverage, or a band is fantastic. |
hope outdoor dining is a reality this summer and for many summers to come. | am really looking forward to it.

Sincerely,

Cara O'Neil

Hello,

lam a current resident of Nashua. | have lived with my husband in Nashua since 1992. During the pandemic, we were
thrilled to have seen the outside dining options in the down town area. My husband and | very much enjoyed being able
to go downtown and grab a bite to eat on a nice spring/summer or fall day! | truly hope that outside dining is here to
stay!

| work indcors all day and it is a true treat to enjoy a meal, outside in the fresh air. | know there are some that say the
parking has been impacted, but we never had that experience. We have had NO trouble finding a parking space near
where we wanted to eat. | love how lively our downtown has been since the opening of the outside dining. | also believe
that the outside seating has been a nice draw and really adds another level of enjoyment to our city.

In short, we want you to vote “yes” to continued outside dining! (We have eaten-outside at Fody’s, Odd Fellows, Casey
Magee’s trish Pub, Peddler’s Daughter, Joanne’s kitchen, Fratello’s, MT Local’s and Jajabelles)

Thank you!

Dear Ms. Graham,

| am writing to express my support for continuing to offer outdoor dining at the downtown restaurants this summer. | am
very thankful that the city was able to adapt to the situation over the last two years. Not only did it allow the restaurants to
stay open through a very challenging time, but it also brought a vibrance to Main Street that was wonderful to see. i hope
the Board will be able to offer outdoor dining again this year so people with health concerns can continue to eat out.
Thank you,

Cheryl A. Carroll

Subject: Downtown Barriers

CAUTION: This email! came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is

My name is Manuela Perry, I live at 50 Palm Street and I work for the City's legal department. I don't normally
comment on issues within the city because as a city employee I feel that I should stay neutral and see all sides,

however, in this case as a Nashua taxpayer and someone who lives in the downtown area I would like to share

the following thoughts.

Prior to covid summers downtown were nice but it was not a place that I made an effort to visit. The first year
it was nice to see that the city cared so much about it's citizens not just in the downtown area but other
restaurants throughout the city who were also able to take advantage of the expanded outdoor dining, which, I
believed saved many jobs including my husband's. The following year barriers the were painted by some very
talented artists, the live music that some of the restaurants have makes the outdoor dining experience much
more pleasant. Since covid I have stayed out of restaurants, because I wasn't comfortable indoors with a lot of
people. When I do go out to eat during the warmer months I go to the downtown area because of the
atmosphere the downtown area now has. The drive through downtown does defiantly take longer that is true
and I understand the concern that some citizens have, but for me I find myself using Main street more often to
slow down and appreciate the art and atmosphere.

On another note I would like to say that I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication to the Nashua
residents. And a special thanks to Alderman Lopez (my ward alderman) for all he does for the downtown

residential area.

Regards
Manuela Perry

Subject: Outdoor dining in Downtown Nashua was a business saver

CAUTION: This email came from outside of the organization. Do not click links/open attachments if source is unknown.
Honored Members of the Nashua Board of Aldermen,

The barriers set in place to allow restaurants a place where people who wanted to support restaurants, but were
reluctant to dine indoors, really did save businesses - but they also did a whole lot more...

They created a new atmosphere for our Main St. - it became more open and welcoming.
People weren’t just driving through, they had to slow to be more aware and in doing so saw things they never saw

before.
It was exciting and alive with people, and that in itself drew more folks to downtown.

| agree it should be assessed for several issues. Some storefronts need parking instead of an outdoor presence. |
also agree that although most of the barriers were lovely we might be better served if the restaurants used the space for
advertising as sleeves are available at a reasonable cost. The city could also use the barriers to point out where to turn
for parking options with such sleeves.

| truly hope that a few angry voices do not drowned out the many who benefitted from the use of those barriers,
and that what had been done is not set in stone and changes can be made to improve the outcome for more businesses
and their customers.

With my highest regards,
Jan
