Alderman Klee

The one replaced in December, was that also out of date?

Mr. Boucher

No, it wasn’t. That was the correct one. However, this company submitted ones that were obsolete. These
will match the one that is in place now.

Mayor Donchess

Mr. Boucher just joined us recently. He was not here.

Re: Contract for Steam System Repairs (Value: Not-To-Exceed $20,000)

ON THE QUESTION
Mr. Boucher

This is for a secondary system. In 2015, there was a boiler installed to replace an older one at the facility,
which provides hot water steam through pipes. The new HVAC system that is being installed now gets
connected to the old pipe system with the 2015 boiler. This is to replace a lot of the steam valves between the
new boiler and the new HVAC system so they are all new. We found out recently that the company working on
the new HVAC system can’t test new equipment until some of these repairs are done. The steam traps aren’t
holding so steam is coming out where it is not supposed to come out. This is to go through and replace all of
the steam traps and some old valves that are in place so from this point on they can be maintained. Lemire is
not the contractor on the other projects. This is the company that has been servicing our new boiler. They will
continue to upgrade the system that is in between the new HVAC system and the new boiler.
