Finance Committee — 4/5/2017 Page 5
Mr. Cummings
That’s an excellent point. We'll make sure that we do do that moving forward. | don’t know to answer your
question, but we will definitely look into that.
Alderman Caron
| really think it’s important that you are not competing with each other. Also, they do have a lot of sponsors that
work with SummerFun for different events. | think it would be a great hand-in-glove. It was for a long time and
| would like to see that continue, but | am excited. | really think it’s great. Thank you.
Alderman Clemons
| was talking with Paul Shea the other day. What’s nice about this event is the Downtown Improvement
Committee will be recognized as the main sponsor for this event. What’s great about that is it reminds people
that this is your parking money when you come downtown that’s helping to pay for these fun events and things
that are going on downtown. It’s the promise that we put in when we raised the parking meters years ago. We
promised people that we were going to do events like this, improve the aesthetics of downtown and things like
that. We’re living up to our promise by doing things like this. Again, | look forward to supporting it.

The streets listed here are not part of the Broad Street Parkway funds?

No, they are not. This is coming from the Roadway Special Revenue Fund that we appropriated money into
last year. This is not the repurposing or anything like that.
