Thank you. There seems to be a little confusion or misinformation, or lack of complete understanding but | can attest of
why is the Fire Department there? They’re not really there to run around with clipboards and cue people into the line. It’s
because people are receiving a drug. Sometimes when you receive a drug you can have a reaction to the drug and that’s
called anaphylactic shot which is life threatening. Everybody that is there from Nashua Fire Rescue is a certified EMT and
has maintained a class level to assist in that type of an emergency and can assist the paramedics with advanced life
support if God bless it is required. What happens people do get that shot? Sometimes they do feel ill with the shot. |
don’t think there’s been a complete full blown of anaphylactic shock because of it but that’s the true reason why they’re
there. If you do see them with the clipboard and everything, | think it’s a matter of efficiency. They’re truly there for the
one particular reason is if something should go wrong with the person who is getting the shot they will be the intervening
force and through efficiencies they're just helping around as generally everybody does. That is really more the tale of the
tape of what they’re actually doing out there.

Well the other thing is that who else are we going to find to do this? | mean these people have regular jobs. We expect
them to be there when we call for a fire or when we call for a police officer. So it has to be done on overtime. You can’t
take all the police off the street and the firefighters out of the fire houses and just say here you go. We need these people
and they’re there for us. That’s just my point.
