PUBLIC HEARING
R-19-114
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY TREASURER TO ISSUE BONDS
NOT TO EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF SIX MILLION DOLLARS ($6,000,000)
FOR THE PHASE III LINED LANDFILL EXPANSION OF THE NASHUA FOUR
HILLS LANDFILL, TO INCLUDE ENGINEERING SERVICES
President Wilshire
At this point in the meeting | am going to turn it over to Alderman Dowd.
Alderman Dowd
We are holding a Public Hearing on R-19-114 authorizing the Mayor and the City Treasurer to issue bonds not to
exceed the amount of $6,000,000.00 for the Phase III lined landfill expansion of the Nashua Four Hills Landfill, to
include engineering services. Is there someone who would like to come up and briefly explain what this is going
to entail?
Jeff Lafleur gave a brief overview of R-19-114 before public testimony.
Jeff Lafleur, Superintendent Solid Waste
The Phase III landfill is about a 6 acre parcel that we are going to be building into our new landfill. It is needed
because we are running out of air space that we currently have. We are actually building ourselves into a pyramid
where we are running out of space. We can still capture air space in the Phase | and II but we need to build the
Phase Ill to bring us up to level so we have a working area to work on.
Alderman Dowd
Ok does anyone have any questions before we start to take testimony? Seeing none | will take testimony in favor
of R-19-114.
