Board of Aldermen 09-10-2019 Page 12

| have been able to clarify that that actually comes through the Secretary of State up in Concord. The one
thing though that the Legislation HB480 does allow the Board of the Aldermen to do is that if for some
reason this not working out, we have the right to rescind, we have that right. So that’s more or less where
the ultimate decision gets made.

The other question that had been asked at the Personnel Meeting was where would this money be going?
And just like all other lottery money and Keno and so, it will go to the education funding. | think that was
the last thing | needed to say. Thank you very much.

A viva voce roll call was taken which resulted as follows:

Alderman Dowd, Alderman Klee, Alderman Laws, Alderman Lopez

ON THE QUESTION

Alderman Dowd

Yes in working with the Mayor, we determined this was the best place to get the $50,000.00 for the
Comprehensive Firemen’s Report, which the last time it was done was 33 years ago. You can see it’s got

a little bit of yellow; it is way overdue time for a good assessment of the Fire Department so then can plan
accordingly for the next 20 years.
