AUTHORIZING STOP SIGNS ON GLEN DRIVE AT ITS’ INTERSECTION WITH
NOTTINGHAM DRIVE
Given its second reading;
MOTION BY ALDERMAN HARRIOTT-GATHRIGHT FOR FINAL PASSAGE OF O-19-061
ON THE QUESTION
Alderman Harriott-Gathright
| would like to speak to it. For those that might not realize that Glen Drive is like a half mile of hill and
cars just come straight down, straight down. That intersection is a bus stop, a school bus stop.
Probably about a month and a half ago there was a terrible accident there about 10 minutes before the
kids got off the bus. But there was damaged property, tore up another car in the driveway, tore up the
mailbox, the whole 9 yards. So | got several calls from Glen Drive at that time asking to come look at
the damage that was done on the street and | think Mike did the same thing, we both got calls.
We agree that it wasn’t the first time and that there’s always been complaints right there at the school
bus stop, so it was really important that they have a four-way stop sign. Currently today it is a two-way
stop sign on Nottingham, but nothing to stop the cars that are coming zooming down Glen. | know that
Glen Road will be very happy as well as Nottingham with the four-way stop particularly since it is a
school bus stop.
