AUTHORIZING STOP SIGNS ON DINSMORE STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH
DOUGLAS STREET
Given its second reading;
MOTION BY ALDERMAN DOWD FOR FINAL PASSAGE OF O-19-058
ON THE QUESTION
Alderman Dowd
I'd like to talk to it. Yes, the stop signs are actually on Douglas Street; Alderman Jette pointed that out
the way it was written was probably confusing but the reason they are not on Dinsmore Street is it is a
hill. The reason for the stop signs on Douglas is because it is a blind entrance into Dinsmore Street.
Dinsmore Street comes down from the school; so this is to prevent accidents.

AUTHORIZING STOP SIGNS ON CHARLOTTE STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH
CHARLOTTE AVENUE
Given its second reading;
MOTION BY ALDERMAN DOWD FOR FINAL PASSAGE OF O-19-059
ON THE QUESTION
Alderman Dowd
I'd like to speak to it. Yes, | don’t know if anybody has been at the intersection of Charlotte Street and
Charlotte Ave. lately, but the BPW has painted a red squaring curve that some people just ignore, but |
found out today, at the State it looks like it is approved, our plan that we submitted 5 years ago, putting
in a new sidewalk on the opposite side from the school on Charlotte. They will also make that a more
permanent squared corner. This 3-way stop is part of that. Earlier this year we had a car go around
that corner, hit a car that had stopped for kids crossing in the crosswalk. So we are trying to prevent
children from getting hurt.
