woods on that. There are still people struggling every day, there are still Fire Stations still open
receiving people looking for a better life. And our Police are dealing, | can say from first-hand
observation, very compassionately with people who are under the influence and making decisions that
affect public welfare. It something we still have a lot of work to do, so | encourage everybody to be
familiar with the resources and services available in our City.

| wanted to extend my condolences to the O’Mara Family for their recent loss.

There is the Downtown Arts Festival on August 25", Saturday on Main Street, so | wanted to invite all of
the members of the Board of Aldermen to attend. And | wanted to wish our Aldermanic Assistant Sue,
Happy Birthday. So Happy Birthday Sue.

Alderman Caron

Yes thank you. Thank you Mayor for talking about Nashua going back to school, we have been dealing
with that since 4" of July so | speak on behalf of Alderwoman Melizzi-Golja who is working hard on this.
It is a week from Thursday, from 5:00 to 6:30. We are looking forward to having a bus there that is
going to talk about safety on school buses and you are going to be able to have your picture taken. We
are really excited about that.

The Telegraph is putting together several articles concerning Nashua Goes Back to School; one is to
celebrate all the sponsors over the past 13 years who have participated. They are also doing
something with all the schools, all the principals that have been part of that and also all the volunteers
who have helped out. If you want to see some exciting, hard-working people, come on Wednesday
when RSVP is there and they bagged almost 1,700 bags with supplies in less than three hours. We
have students from Pennichuck Junior High School who will be there.

We also have Pokémon group that is sending 3 or 4 people. We also have members of the Lion’s Club
who also will be helping out that day. We are looking forward to it being a nice day on Thursday so that
everyone can come down and have a good time. Thank you. And Happy Birthday Sue.

Alderman Wilshire
| just want to let the citizens know that the Nashua Police Department is starting their 30" Citizens

Academy. You can register by calling Ed Lecius at 594-3544. The deadline to register for that is
August 30".

Alderman Gidge

Yes my wife broke her hip and then she ended up in the hospital with nine stitches on her finger, but
she also did something else. The front page Union Leader and | mean really the top “Nashua Artist’s
Wife Foils International Scam”. So she is pretty protective of myself and the artists, but | thought that
was pretty neat.

Chairman McCarthy

| think Sue may have thought she was going to escape notice. | didn’t post anything on her Facebook
page but that was deliberate because of the element of surprise which Alderman Lopez with the jacket;
so Happy Birthday Sue.

Committee announcements:

Alderman Jette

Although | am very anxious to find out what an urban chicken is, | don’t know if it is a city slicker, a fast
talking chicken as opposed to the rural farm slow talking chicken.
