Alderwoman Melizzi-Golja
Last week, the VFW Post 483 celebrated the opening of their new home on 8 East Pearl Street.
Congratulations to them as they get settled in there. Also, ADK which is an educator’s honor society is having
their annual plant sale on June 3" at 15 Spencer Drive. This organization is made up of teachers here in the
Nashua School District. Every year the money that they raise is used to provide two scholarships, $1000 each,
for high school seniors going into education. Last year they also spent over $3,000 providing clothing, food
and personal care items to students within our schools. If you are looking for plants, they always have a great
supply. Finally a reminder that the Taste of Nashua is June 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. | believe we all
received a notice that there’s some reduced price tickets available until May 26. Hopefully we will have good
weather. Thank you.
Alderman Dowd
The intersection of Charron Avenue and Amherst Street, the construction is moving along quickly. They plan
for completion of that work including the repaving of that portion of Amherst Street in mid-July.
Alderman Clemons
| want to welcome back our colleague, Alderman McGuinness. | am glad to see you back. | also wanted to
take a moment to thank our men and women in the military who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Alderman Wilshire
| wanted to make mention of an article about Lt. Carlos Camacho of the Nashua Police Department. It’s from
the Archdiocese of Manchester. A really nice, well written article about Carlos Camacho, such an awesome,
awesome addition to our police department. It’s a really good article. I'll leave it in the back room for those of
you who might like to look at it.
President McCarthy
| had the pleasure of attending the groundbreaking this morning for the skate park as well. It really is a
fantastic piece of work. | think it will be a great asset to the city. While | was standing there looking at it, it’s
nestled in between Stellos Stadium and Conway Arena and the YMCA and all the work we have done at Mine
Falls. We really have provided some great recreational activities for our citizens over the years. | do want to
thank Alderman Deane for his work on getting the park to have a location and pursing getting a great design
for a great new facility.

the Joint Special School Building Committee.
