HOIST SYSTEMS

All components and installations shall be the responsibility of one manufacturer.
All electrical equipment shall comply with the applicable requirements for
materials, workmanship, construction and installation of the latest NEMA and
National Electrical Code and Standards.

E. The current issue of Underhung Cranes and Monorail Systems by the MMA and
the Hoist Manufactures Institute shall be included as a part of this section unless
otherwise specified.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Contractor shall be responsible to off load, store and cover hoisting systems and
protect controls and electrical equipment from moisture.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.1 HOIST SCHEDULE

2.2 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
A. All components of all equipment, including hoist and trolley, wire rope or cable,
and pushbutton control pendant, shall be rated to satisfy the requirements of the
NEMA rating designated for the rooms in which the equipment will be used in and
travel through.
B. Electrical Hoists with integral trolley
1. Service Classification - H1 (infrequent use)
2. Hazard Control - Motors and trolleys required to be explosion proof shall be
as indicated in the Hoist Schedule.
3. Hoist - Standard or Low Headroom, Electric, Cable Type, Lug or Hook
Mounted, Spark Resistant as indicated in Schedule.
a. Lift Capacity - As indicated in the Schedule
b. Lift - As indicated in the Schedule
c. Lift speed: Single speed, 10 feet per minute minimum.
d. Totally enclosed; reversible, 480 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle, 2 HP maximum
motor.
4. Trolley - Dual Wheel, Motor Driven or Dual Wheel Geared Trolley
a. Travel Speed - Single speed, 25 feet per minute minimum.
b. Trolley drive; reversible 480 volt, 3 phase, 60 cycle, 1/2 HP motor
maximum.
Trolley shall be 4-wheel type with side extensions beyond the wheel
flange to provide bumper.
c. Maximum chain pull to move rated load — 14 pounds.
