Scope of Work for Engineering Design and Construction Phase Services
B1.2 Field Investigations
Consultant will collect utility (i.e., gas, water, sewer, fiber optic, electric, cable) record information and field
verify location of utility information as needed. Field verification of utility information will consist of site
walks to visually locate utilities within the right-of-way and visual inspection of internal manhole and catch
basin structures from the surface to verify size and location of pipes entering and leaving these structures.
Photographs and field measurements will be obtained as necessary to resolve potential design conflicts in
advance of construction.
Available record information of utilities will be shown on the design drawings. Photographs and
measurements taken to resolve potential design conflicts will also be shown on design drawings where
required.
B1.3 Development of Design Documents
Design plans, specifications, and opinion of probable construction cost will be submitted to the City for
review at the 90% and Final (100%) design milestones. The Contract drawings will be prepared using a
combination of AutoCAD 2018, existing record information along with ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro. Design plans
will be prepared at 40-scale (1”=40’ horizontal and 1”=4’ vertical) and 20-scale (1”=20’ horizontal and 1”=5’
vertical). It is assumed for the purposes of this scope that 32 drawings will be prepared. Consultant will
prepare design documents in conformance with the applicable rules, laws, regulations and specifications of
the City of Nashua, New Hampshire.
Deliverables: — Four (4) copies of the design deliverables (Opinion of Probable Construction Cost and
Contract Documents) will be submitted to the City for review at 90% and Final.
Task B2 — Bidding Phase Services
Consultant will assist the City in obtaining bids and awarding the construction contract in accordance with the
design plans and specifications. The Consultant shall:
B2.1 Provide written responses to questions and inquiries received from contractors, suppliers and
other parties. (It has been has assumed that one (1) set of Questions and Answers will be addressed.)
B2.2 Assist in the preparation of addenda to the contract documents. (It has been has assumed that
one (1) Addenda will be prepared.)
B2.3 Attend one pre-bid conferences for general bids. Assume one 8-hour day, including preparation
and travel time.
B2.4 Prepare and submit a tabulation of general bids received.
B2.5 Evaluate the bid forms for the contract to determine if the general bids were complete,
accurate, and balanced.
B2.6 Review and provide input on the determination if the bidders are financially and technically
qualified to perform the required work.
