Re: Emergency PO Request — Emergency Sewer Repair 116 Allds Street
Pursuant to 5-90 (G) of the NRO, | have authorized Emergency Purchase Order Request for the repair of a
broken sewer line at 116 Allds Street in an amount of $25,000 to Crisp Contracting of Nashua, NH for the
work required as detailed below.
Emergency sewer service repair for a single unit house at 116 Allds St.
The resident contacted the Engineering Department March 30'" stating they were
experiencing sewer back-ups into the house. We requested a video of the service which
they provided shortly thereafter. The video confirmed a collapsed sewer service in the
city Right-of-Way. We explained that the city can assist them after an updated sewer
permit was completed along with a $600 fee. These were received in early April.
The repair is quite challenging and complex due to depth and existing utilities and not
within the capabilities of the Streets Department. The Engineering Department reached
out to six local sewer contractors and Crisp Contracting was the only bidder.
The bid submitted includes restoration of the sewer service, permanent sidewalk repair
and temporary road repair. Because Allds Street is in moratorium, a much larger
permanent road restoration will be required after a “settlement” period for the road
base. This may be contracted out to the city’s pavement contractor separately at a lower
cost than offered by Crisp.
The work should be completed ASAP, but certainly within 7 days of approval of the
contract.
Once filed with the City Clerk’s office a Requisition will entered and a PO generated that
will allow these repairs to be implemented and completed as soon as possible.
Thank you.
