Item No. 1 - Newton Drive Electrical Extension - $27,335.18
This item is for necessary electrical modifications done at the Newton Drive Pump Station. This
station required three-phase power. The Drawings showed the station being powered from a
single-phase connection, which is not feasible. Eversource installed a new telephone pole with
three-phase power on the other side of the Riverview Gardens development. The change order
reflects the additional work required for Defelice to connect to this new power source. The
additional work includes the cost for additional excavation, materials, and labor. A cost backup
is provided in Attachment A. Below is a summary of the cost of work broken down by day. The
figure below shows the installed conduit route (red) versus the non-feasible route from the
contract drawings (yellow).
