Alderman Harriott-Gathright
Whatever the camera that you put in there, are you able to take it out yourself?
Deputy Rourke
Yes. Yes. It is just a sewn in pocket where it sits in there. They will puncture the hole in the shirt and then the
camera will sit right in there, right through the camera. If you go to that presentation, a couple slides down
there’s a picture of it. | can show you after too, but there’s a picture of the way it is set up. And every officer
gets 5 shorts done for free by the company in this contract and each officer also gets $200.00 so if they want to
do the outer carrier vest, if they want to do a jacket, the company will do it. They have $200.00 to spend on
fixing their uniforms.
Mayor Donchess
Alderwoman Kelly.
Alderwoman Kelly
Yes please. | have one more question. How and | am sorry if | missed it in your presentation, what is the life of
these what is the replacement look like for long-term. Are they pushing software out, like are they 10 years
things?
Deputy Rourke
It is a 6 year deal with full warranty so if one of the officer's cameras break they replace it for free through the 6
year deal.
Alderwoman Kelly
At the end of those 6 years though like are these going to be obsolete and we are going to have to buy 179
new body cams?
Deputy Rourke
| think we would be looking at a new contract after the 6 years; but in the 6 years full warranty coverage.
Alderwoman Kelly
OK.
Mayor Donchess
Anyone else? Alderman Laws.
Alderman Laws
Thank you Mayor. Presumably after 6 years if we did renew the contract it would be significantly cheaper
because a lot of the infrastructure would already be in place unless we had to upgrade.
Deputy Rourke
Unless we have to upgrade and again like the phones are changing all the time and upgrading so | am thinking
when you upgrade the contracts, the phones would be updated included in that contract.
