Scope of Work for Engineering Services

B3.3. Identify Sewers and Manholes for Rehabilitation/Replacement

Consultant shall conduct a detailed evaluation of the inspection data for the sewer and manhole
inspections. Consultant shall then utilize its in-house tools to develop rehabilitation or replacement
recommendations. The videos shall be reviewed once received by the Consultant. Recommendations
shall include a set of maps (digital or hardcopy) outlining the rehabilitation recommendations including
rehabilitation method or replacement. In addition, the Consultant shall provide a master document
summarizing the CCTV data and Consultant’s recommendations.

Deliverables: | CCTVand manhole Inspection Reports from Subcontractor. Interim recommendation
spreadsheets shall be submitted to the City upon request, all data is available in real time via GIS and
through ProjectWise. The spreadsheets shall show progress to date of reviews. Three (3) hard copies
and one (1) pdf file shall be submitted per month from receipt of first Subcontractor transmittal.
Consultant shall deliver final updated prioritized spreadsheet and map.

Rehabilitation recommendation technical memoranda shall be prepared and delivered to the City at the
conclusion of each year. The Consultant shall prepare one (1) pdf file and five (5) hardcopies of each
years’ report.

TASK B4 — Sanitary Sewer GIS Edits and Updates

Consultant shall provide support for improving and updating the City’s GIS database. The updates (including the
addition of sewer service connections to properties and catch basin laterals in the areas where sewer CCTV is
performed) shall be based on the sewer system inspections and City records which may yield variances from
existing data in the GIS database. The Consultant shall work with the City’s GIS coordinator to coordinate
updates. The work shall include periodic submittals to the City’s GIS coordinator outlining recommended
modifications to the GIS. The Consultant shall document the GIS database changes in Excel tables. Any
additional effort required beyond the amount budgeted shall require additional budget to be negotiated
between the City and the Consultant.

Deliverables: Updates to the City’s GIS.

TASK B5 — Force Main Condition Assessment
A force main condition assessment shall be performed to evaluate the force main materials and bedding
conditions. The consultant shall identify conditions of the pipe and general recommendations.

B5.1 ‘Inspection and Testing
The Consultant shall engage a Subcontractor to perform a Condition Assessment including non-
destructive testing of a force main to be determined. For the purpose of budgeting the force main is
assumed to be 10-in dia., ductile iron, approximately 800 feet long with an accessible air release valve
(ARV). A Condition Assessment shall be conducted to evaluate the pipeline materials and bedding
conditions. Such assessment shall include performing non-destructive test of pipe including ultrasonic
thickness (UT) wall thickness measurements and pit depth gauge measurements on the exterior of the
pipe. Access to the force main shall be through confined space entry into the ARV chamber and up to
two (2) test pits. Visual examination to assess the condition of the pipe and existing coatings or
encasement shall be made. One (1) soil sample shall be obtained at each test pit for corrosivity testing
