Commercial Street/Fort Square Utilities Upgrade, City of
Gloucester, MA
Deputy Project Manager for the investigation, design, permitting, bidding
(under M.G.L. c. ¢ 30, § 39M), and construction services for the City’s Pub-
lic Infrastructure Replacement Project. The project includes approximate-
ly 3,200 If of 8” to 12” water mains, 2800 If of sanitary sewers, 1,100 If of
sewer force main, 1,500 If of storm drains, and a 150-gpm submersible
sanitary sewer pump station. The project is located in a heavily developed
urban area, which includes a mix of industrial marine facilities and resi-
dential properties. The drainage system was designed to incorporate pro-
prietary separators to capture and retain total suspended solids, floatables,
and total petroleum hydrocarbons. Existing bulkheads, seawalls, and rip-
rap were modified to accommodate the new work. Full depth reconstruc-
tion of roadways, sidewalks, and curbing were also included.
Worcester Road Pump Station Elimination, Town of Framingham, MA
Deputy Project Manager for the final design phase for the construction of
anew wastewater 5.6 mgd self-cleaning trench wet well pumping station,
6,200 feet of 30-inch interceptor sewer, and 1,900 feet of 8-inch and 14-
inch dual force mains. The project includes a compact pumping station
site, complex excavation, and significant groundwater dewatering. Odor
control was provided using activated carbon. Provisions for the addition
of Bioxide were also made to address concerns of hydrogen sulfide corro-
sion and odor issues. The project includes environmental permitting, SRF
funding assistance, and public outreach.
Mill Cove Relief Siphon Design and Construction, Massachusetts
Water Resources Authority, Weymouth, MA
Senior Engineer responsible for design of 2,000-feet of 42-inch HDPE
sewer siphon across Mill Cove; incorporated horizontal directional drill-
ing to circumvent a lengthy permitting process and reduce cost and con-
struction time for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA).
Washington Street Drain and Outfall Design and Inspection
Program, City of Gloucester, MA
Project Manager providing engineering services during construction of
the Washington Street Drain Project, which is the first component of the
City’s long-term control plan for CSOs. Providing services for approximate-
ly 1,200 If of storm drain (12-inch to 60-inch) that discharges into the Out-
er Gloucester Harbor, approximately 500 feet offshore of Pavilion Beach.
Deer Island Treatment Plant As-Needed Technical Assistance,
MWRA, Winthrop, MA
Project Manager for task orders, including the design, bidding (under
M.G.L. c. c 30, § 39M) and engineering services during construction for
Parking Lot Modifications at the Deer Island plant and the Tafts Avenue
and Shirley Street Intersection Improvements.
