Alderwoman Lu

Thank you, I’m all set. That makes perfect sense, | was just trying to understand. Thank you, Alderman Kelly.
If that’s correct, if no one objects if Director Griffin has nothing to add to that, but that’s fine. | think the whole

discussion may have been just a, you know, trying to get out heads aligned with different ways of
communicating something. Thank you.

Mayor Donchess

REMARKS BY THE ALDERMEN

Alderman Harriott-Gathright

| have something. OK, Southern New Hampshire Outreach of Black Community and the Greater Nashua
NAACP and the Fellowship Baptist Church and Rough Riders and | believe BLM is part of this, we will be doing
Frederick Douglas reading in the common area of the Library at noontime on Friday. So if you are interested in
reading or you just want to hear his speech, please come out and join us. It is probably going to be from about
12 to 1:15. We are practicing social distancing, you must bring your lawn chair and you must bring your mask,
but we will have masks.

Mayor Donchess
And will this be from the Biograph of Frederick Douglas or from his ...

Alderman Harriott-Gathright

No this is from his speech that he gave in New York many, many years, well you know, and the speech
basically he was asked to give a speech about slavery or Black America on July 4" and | guess in the speech
he starts off pretty much praising folks for what they have done in America up until now. But then he goes into
the fact that it really isn’t a Black Holiday. So on the 5" of July he actually gave the speech and it was
considered the Black 4" of July basically. But it is pretty powerful.

Mayor Donchess

Sounds interesting.
