Alderwoman Lu
Thank you.
Mayor Donchess
Alderwoman Harriott-Gathright?
Alderman Harriott-Gathright
Last question, is there any possibility of getting money from the State to help with that or from the county. And
| only ask that question because at the county level this is what | heard about these two, you know, the bridge
being both of ours and needing the work and it was the House Hudson County person that spoke to it. And
that’s the first I'd ever heard of it, so that’s my question. So they are leading the way and we are kind of like
following in that situation.
Mr. Hudson
Yeah | think that’s a fair characterization, | mean we both see the need to do this. Whether there will be State
money or County money, that’s yet to be seen. Certainly we would encourage pursuing that. In discussions
with the State, to date anyway, it has been challenging. They have a lot of bridges, they have a lot of need so
this one here it’s more of a maintenance, preservation type and it isn’t as high on the radar as some of the red
listed bridges that are in dire need of repair and replacement. So we will continue to work on that.
The thought process with this was to do this repair, buy some additional life for the bridges before having to go
to a more intensive repair which would cost more money and |’m not sure we can get the State to step up and
fund this effort on map of timeline, typically they are looking at 10 plus years out to add things to the program.
So we will see how it goes, the first step here is getting it designed, get a good cost estimate. Then | am sure
Hudson and we with them alongside will pursue funding wherever it is available.
Alderman Harriott-Gathright
Follow up, just a comment. In my opinion | am just going to say Nashua has representative to County and to
State so | don’t know if that’s somewhere down the line that you could stay in touch and maybe try to work that,
help that situation financially in terms of Nashua. Just a thought.
Mayor Donchess
We would love to get County money in this.
Alderman Harriott-Gathright
| hear you.
