ON THE QUESTION

Mayor Donchess

Mr. Hudson?
Mr. Hudson

Thank you. So the subject of this item as noted is two bridges that carry Route 111, go across the river into
Nashua and Hudson. They are jointly owned; we have joint responsibility for maintenance and that sort of
thing. They were built in the 1970’s and in 2018 Hudson cooperatively, with us, took on an engineering study
to look at the bridges and found that there is some deterioration which should be repaired before, you know, it
slips into worse condition. Somewhat like the sewer item we were talking about previously. So the next step in
the process is to enter into a formal design process where those repairs are more detailed and specified and
bid out for construction.

So Hudson has put out a contract for that, selected an engineer, Dubois & King. The cost for it just over
$80,000.00. Our share, which would be half of that cost is just over $40,000.00 for this item request.

Mayor Donchess

Alderwoman Harriott-Gathright.

Alderman Harriott-Gathright

| have a question. So is this something that we had planned for or did not plan for?

Mr. Hudson

Yeah we had planned for it, | believe some funding was set aside over a year ago but we are finally at the point
that we have an engineer on board and can proceed with this work. The construction funding would come

later, as a separate item. I’m not sure we’ve budgeted that yet; it will be a later request.

Alderman Harriott-Gathright

Thank you.

Mayor Donchess

Anyone else? Alderwoman Lu?
Alderwoman Lu

Yes, just — thank you. This would be overseen by both, you know, a representative from Nashua as well as
Hudson. Is that right?

Mr. Hudson

Yeah, we work cooperatively throughout the process and we did an engineering study too. The contract with
the engineer will be with Hudson and we will be reimbursing Hudson for half the cost. Hudson is to date
included us in all of their efforts. We had an opportunity to review their RFP and we have reviewed the
contract. And so it’s very cooperative agreement that we have with them and we continue that way.
