Alderman Klee
May | have a follow up question, Mr. Mayor?
Mayor Donchess
Yes, of course.
Alderman Klee
Thank you. So would you need another change order if you have to do a repair or does this change order say
CCTV and repair? | was a little confused on that.
Mr. Hudson
Oh sorry.
Alderman Klee
No that’s my fault.
Mr. Hudson
The original contract and the change orders all have allowed us the flexibility to do both types of work. What |
am telling you is this change order would allow us to do both types as well. But we are planning to focus on
the video versus the lining given the time of the year and given that we are trying to queue up for
reconstruction and lining work for next summer.
Alderman Klee
OK thank you, | was a little confused, but thank you so much.
Mayor Donchess
Any other — Alderman O’Brien.
Alderman O’Brien
Thank you. Mr. Hudson what are some of the age of some of our older pipes that we have in the system?
Mr. Hudson
So that’s a great question. We have some very old pipes in the City, well over 100 years old. So what we
have been focusing on is the pipes in the inner City primarily because those are the oldest in the City, over
time grew from the center out. So yeah we are looking at pipes that are well over 100 years and many that
probably haven’t been looked in, you know, maybe ever or many, many years. So it’s important that we look at
them, we try to catch them, line them before they slip into a repair category that we are then able to require
digging which is much more expensive and more disruptive. So we feel this is a great program, it’s run well
and we want to continue that work.
Alderman O’Brien
Thank you.
