Pump Station Upgrades Project — Phase 1
To approve the contract with DeFelice Corporation of Dracut, Massachusetts in an
amount not to exceed $3,469,550 for construction of the Pump Station Upgrades Phase I
Project. Funding will be through: Department: 169- Wastewater; Fund: SRF Loan;
Activity: Pump Station Upgrades Phase I.
DeFelice Bid
The City of Nashua owns 13 pump station stations and one CSO pump station in need of
upgrades. This project is being bid in two phases due to the magnitude of the project.
Phase I includes the 6 most critical pump stations in need of renovation. Upgrades
include completely new packaged pump stations with new controls and fiber cable
communication back to the plant.
Woodard and Curran was contracted to design the new pump stations. The Request for
' Proposal went out on February 21, 2019. The bid opening was held on March 22 and the
following bids were received:
DeFelice Corporation $3,469,550
TBuck Construction Company $3,992,200
Albanese D&S, Inc. $4,222,750
DeFelice’s bid of $3,469,550 is less than the Engineer’s estimate of $ 3,800,000. They
have done satisfactory work on numerous sewer construction projects in the past for the
City of Nashua. They are well qualified for this work. References checked were
satisfactory on comparable projects.
