Subject: Nashua Police Department Facilities Study
The Nashua Police Department is seeking to contract the professional services of Lavallee Brensinger
Architects (LBA) as the Architect for the Nashua Police Department Facilities Study.
The scope of service includes: Space needs program development; Review current PD facility; Investigate
Options and Final Concept Design; Conceptual Project Budget; and Study Deliverables.
As a part of the current HVAC project, cur MEP Engineering Consultants, Yeaton Associates, noted
drawbacks in our HVAC options due to limited information available at this time regarding the future space
needs of the Nashua Police Department, which may result in potential additions to the 2000 vintage 2
story addition as related to potential expansion. The recommendation is to hire architectural
programming/planning services to pravide a study of the Nashua Police Department facilities that will
report on the space needs and plans to accommodate for items such as routing and accommodation of
the upper floor ductwork chases.
Pursuant to NRO 5-83 (A2) Professional Services may be awarded by the Finance Committee upon
consideration of the specific experience with similar projects. LBA has extensive experience in the Law
Enforcement related facilities projects and a client list has been provided.
The Nashua Police Department recommends the contract to Lavallee Brensinger Architects in the amount
of $45,000 for Architectural Services as quoted for the City of Nashua Police Department Facilities Study.
Funding is available in the NPD Building Capital Project account.
Sincerely,
1
