Subject: Nashua Police Department Talino KA-501 Forensic Workstation
The Nashua Police Department (NPD) is requesting to purchase one Talino KA-501 Forensic Workstation
in addition to the current Forensic Recovery of Evidence Device (FRED) forensic workstation which is
currently four years old. This system is used for digital evidence processing and analysis on a daily basis.
in the past 12 months, the Computer Forensic Unit (CFU) has performed 61 computer examinations with
the use of the FRED workstation in addition to other cases requiring digital evidence processing. The
addition of the KA-501 Forensic Workstation will eliminate delays in processing time and increase
efficiency.
The Nashua Police Department recommends purchasing the forensic workstation from the manufacturer
Sumuri as a sole source proprietor. This unit has been chosen for its exceptional performance,
processing and storage upgrades. Funding in the amount of $13,995 is available in the Equitable Sharing
Forfeiture account.
Sincerely,
Kin Sich
