Certified Recovery Support Worker Supervision
Revive Recovery Center and City of Nashua
Division of Public Health and Community Services
Memorandum of Understanding

This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is effective as of February 1, 2018 between
the City of Nashua, by the Division of Public Health and Community Services,18 Mulberry
Street, Nashua NH 03060 (“City”) and Revive Recovery Center, a New Hampshire non-profit
corporation with a principal place of business at 263 Main St. Nashua NH 03060 (“Revive”).
City and Revive are hereinafter sometimes referred to, individually, as a “Party” and,
collectively, as the “Parties”.

WHEREAS, the City has experienced a marked increase in individuals identified as
being affected by substance use disorder (“SUD”) seeking recovery services;

WHEREAS, the cost of hospital and precious human life, due to SUD related health
crisis, has skyrocketed to epidemic proportions nationally and NH, specifically, has suffered
more than 369 lives lost to opioid overdoses in 2016;

WHEREAS, Peer Recovery Support Workers seeking certification as a Certified
Recovery Support Worker experience multiple challenges and barriers in the process of
achieving their certification.

WHEREAS, the City recognizes through SUD activities and programs provided through
SUD Prevention and Continuum of Care, that one of the current challenges for patients is access
to treatment and ongoing recovery support, which Peer Recovery Support Workers and Certified
Recovery Support Workers provide;

WHEREAS, in efforts to further combat this epidemic, the City is seeking to provide
supervision support to employees and volunteers of Revive who are Certified Recovery Support
Workers (CRSWs) or are working toward becoming a Certified Recovery Support Worker; and

WHEREAS, the Parties understand the importance to the public’s health of decreasing
substance misuse in the state, therefore have agreed to work together in good faith for the
coordination in support of the Peer Recovery Coaches and CRSWs.

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual agreements contained herein and
for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the
Parties agree as follows:

1. Peer Recovery Coach and CRSW Supervision Services.

a. City of Nashua Division of Public Health and Community Services employs a Master
Licensed Alcohol Drug Counselor (MLADC) who will provide supervision to peer
recovery coaches training to become CRSWs and CRSWs working at Revive.
Services will include:

ij Weekly supervision services for two hours. The supervision can be either
be one-on-one or in a group supervision setting with no more than 8
CRSWs and the supervisor. The MLADC will conduct the supervision at
Revive. The supervisions will include, but not be limited to, providing an
