Re: Purchase of One 2019 Rampant 20 ton ramp trailer with 24’flat deck and 6”

dovetail with 8’ hydraulic ramps.

C. Motion: To approve the purchase of one 2019 Rampant 20 ton ramp trailer with 24’ flat
deck and 6’ dovetail with 8’ hydraulic ramps from Rampant Trailers, LLC of
Wendell, NC for $20,231. Funding will be through Department: 160
Engineering; Fund: Grant; Activity: Highway Block Grant.

Discussion: While pricing the new trailer we were quoted through the NJPA through another
vendor for the amount of $21,062.26 which is equivalent of the State Bid for the
trailer. Instead, we are purchasing the trailer directly from the manufacturer
which came in at a lower price than the NJPA quote.

This trailer includes options such as a longer deck and dovetail, and loading
ramps that are 2’ longer and hydraulically assisted.

The purchase of this trailer will enable Street Department crews to operate more
efficiently as we will be able to move multiple pieces of equipment with one
move vs, having to make multiple trips to mobilize the needed equipment to the
jobsite.
