Purchase of one 2018 Ford F250 4x4 Pick-up Truck.

To approve the purchase of one 2018 Ford F250 pickup truck from MHO of
Marlborough, MA for $43,588.75 pursuant to the active Metropolitan Area
Planning Council / Greater Boston Police Council contract. Funding will be
through Department: 161 Street; Fund: Trust; Activity: CERF.

This scheduled purchase will replace street foreman’s pickup truck unit #18, a
2011 Ford F350 pickup truck. This vehicle currently has 53,191 miles on it. The
new vehicle will be equipped with a V plow and a utility body for secure lockable
storage for tools and supplies.

The old #18 has had multiple major repairs and will now be moved to the Street
Department Fleet as a backup vehicle and will primarily be active in the winter to
handle smaller inner city streets and assist larger trucks with dead end routes.

MHQ will deliver the truck fully equipped with a 6.2L V8 gasoline engine. There
will be a 5 year, 60,000 mile powertrain warranty and a 3 year, 36,000 mile
bumper to bumper warranty. The Superintendent and Fleet Manager both
recommend this purchase.
