Re: 2018 Sewer Replacement — Kinsley St
Change Order i
&. Motion: To approve Change Order No. | to the construction contract for the 2018 Sewer
Replacement — Kinsley St project to Newport Construction of Nashua, NH in an amount
not to exceed $27,000. Funding will be through: Department: 169 Wastewater; Fund:
Wastewater; Activity: Sewer Rehab.
Discussion: The base contract was for sewer improvements on Kinsley St in advance of street
paving later this year included of about 480 feet sewer replacemeni as well as associated
catch basins. This original contract value is $1,139,300.
This change order has two parts:
e 1) Construction of manholes. During the execution of the sewer CIPP lining
contract by Layne Inliners in a separate contract, it was discovered that
additional manholes are needed in order to perform some of the lining. This
Change Order includes the construction of four manholes for $22,000.
e 2) Removal of pipe. An unrecorded sewer main on Kinsley St from Elm St to
Walnut St has been located. Removing this pipe is essential since it may
deteriorate and cause sinkholes. The cost to remove the pipe is $5,000.
The total value of the change order is $27,000. This will bring the toial contract value
to $1,166,300.
