EDWARD (ED) PRICE, CHST
Health & Safety Director
PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
Ed is a senior manager with 28 years of construction experience and has been Charter’s Health and
Safety (H&S) Director for 14 years. His experience, discipline, and attention to detail have led to the
quality recognition of Charter’s safety program. Under Ed’s leadership, Charter has achieved no lost time
since 2008 and zero reportable incidents since 2009, while executing remediation of former MGP and
coal tar sites, complex mass excavations, high hazard demolition, dredging, and heavy civil construction
projects. Ed has a unique understanding of construction processes and safety from both the compliance
and job-site perspective. His careful pre-planning and analysis of project specifications and work plans,
results in site-specific Health & Safety Plans that identify job safety analyses for definable features of
work, proper personal protective equipment, training and ultimately a safe project work environment.
He routinely serves as an alternate Site Superintendent/Site Manager at active project sites. Ed conducts
unannounced health & safety audits at Charter’s sites and works closely with Charter’s on-site Site Safety
and Health Officer to ensure that the site specific HASP is being properly implemented.
