out “Supplementary Conditions” in the agreement prior to execution if in fact none are
applicable.
5. Please clarify whether GC Article 5.05 Property Insurance (Builders Risk) is required
and please specify the value of any existing structures that need to be insured, if any.
Builders Risk insurance is only required if the project involves structural changes to a
building.
6. On Sheet 3, Detail 2 of the bid drawings, an electrometric adaptor kit is referenced. Can
you please confirm what is meant by this detail? May I assume that an elastomeric
adapter kit is required in this particular instance?
Yes, this is a typo. It should read “elastomeric” adapter kit.
7. In Section 02200 of the Technical Specifications, Part 2, Item 2.2 Materials, Letter B,
there is no mention of the stone being non-calcareous. Can you please confirm if there
are any testing requirements for the stone [specifically is ASTM-D3042 is required]?
There are no testing requirements for the stone; however, CONTRACTOR shall confirm
stone type(s) with the supplier and demonstrate to the ENGINEER that the stone proposed
for use on the project is of a type(s) that is non-calcareous.
8. Can you please confirm that all pipe needs to be D2513? It is my understanding that
D2513 does not apply to any pipe with perforations and is typically required of pipe
that will be used to convey gas.
ASTM D2513 is referenced in the technical specifications to define dimension ratio (pipe
diameter vs. pipe wall thickness) for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe. For this
project, HDPE pipe for gas collection shall be SDR-17; fittings may be SDR-17 or SDR-11.
9. Can you please confirm which pump is identified by the notation “AP4*B on Detail 1 of
Sheet 5? There are several models that fall under the AP4+, bottom loading category
[i.e., Leachate, Aggressive Fluids Model, Ultra, etc.].
The Industry Standard AutoPump® AP4+ Bottom Inlet (Long) is acceptable for use on this
project.
10.Is the pump supplier to supply the air inlet and liquid discharge fittings, valve, and
hoses shown on Detail 1 of Drawing #5?
This is up to the contractor (bidder), but ultimately the contractor needs to provide all
fittings, valves, hoses, well caps, liquid level probes, etc. needed for a full installation and to
connect and operate the pump.
