Per the Invitation for Bids, how is the use of environmental materials taken into
consideration when evaluating price?
The use of environmentally sound materials is encouraged. However, the benefit of using
any type of alternate material must be evaluated against the cost and function of
traditional materials to ensure performance is not compromised and any additional cost
can be justified.
Please clarify the binding period for submitted bids. Invitation for Bids states bids are
bound for 90 days and the Bid Form states bids are subject to acceptance for 60 days.
Attached is a revised Page 1 of 8 of the Bid Form indicating bids will remain subject to
acceptance for 90 days after the bid opening. Please replace the original Page 1 with this
revised Page 1.
Please clarify the tax requirements for the project. Invitation for Bids states the City is
exempt of all taxes, does this impact the project?
This typically applies to sales tax. Unit prices quoted for materials cannot include sales
tax.
The “Supplementary Conditions” are referenced throughout the Agreement and General
Conditions. Is there a Supplementary Conditions document and is it applicable?
The City contracts attached to the Invitation to Bid are templates and are not intended to
be project specific. The term “Supplementary Conditions” is used to advise the Contractor
that there may be supplementary conditions that apply. It is not always known, prior
to pre-bid, contractor questions, etc. whether a supplementary condition needs to be
included, though it is rare to have them added after the fact. Typically, the City will strike
