13. Equipment or system tests and start-ups.
14. Partial Completions, occupancies.
15. Substantial Completions authorized.

Daily Log: For all Work specified in this Section, the Contractor shall maintain within
the decontamination facility a daily log documenting the dates and time of the following
items, including, but not limited to:

1. Meetings; purpose, participants, discussion (brief)
2. Visitations; authorized and unauthorized
3. Personnel, by name and Social Security Number, entering and leaving the Work
Area
4. Special or unusual events, e.g., barrier breaching, equipment failures
5. Air monitoring tests and test results as required by OSHA
6. Documentation with confirmation signature of the Engineer of the following:
a. Inspection of Work Area preparation prior to start of removal and daily
thereafter
b. Removal of any polyethylene barriers
C. Contractor's inspections prior to encapsulation
d. Removal of waste materials from Work Area
e. Decontamination of equipment (list 1tems)
f. Contractors final inspection/final air test analysis.

Provide two copies of this log at final closeout of each asbestos abatement activity to the
Engineer.

GENERAL APPLICABILITY OF CODES, REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS

Except to the extent that more explicit or more stringent requirements are written
directly into the Contract Documents, all applicable codes, regulations, and standards
have force and effect. All work shall conform to the standards set by applicable federal,
state, and local laws, regulations and ordinances in such form in which they exist at the
time of the Work under the Contract.

Federal Requirements which govern asbestos abatement work or hauling and disposal of
asbestos waste materials include the following:

1. U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration,
(OSHA) including Title 29, Parts 1910 and 1926, as applicable.

2. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) including but not limited to Title

40, Part 61 (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants), as
applicable.
