44. Wet Cleaning: The process of eliminating Asbestos contamination from
underground utilities and other surfaces and objects by using cloths, mops, or
other cleaning utensils which have been dampened with amended water or diluted
removal encapsulant and afterwards thoroughly decontaminated or disposed of as
Asbestos contaminated waste.

45. Work Area: The area where asbestos related work or removal operations are
performed which is defined and/or isolated to prevent the spread of asbestos dust,
fiber or debris, and entry by unauthorized personnel. A Work Area is considered
a contaminated space between the time pre-asbestos abatement preparation begins
and the time the area is Certified Clean. The term Work Area shall also be
synonymous with negative pressure enclosure and containment. A Work Area
shall always be part or subset of a Regulated Area.

SUBMITTALS

Within 14 days from Notice-To-Proceed (NTP), the Contractor shall submit to the
Engineer the following for approval:

1. Name and experience of the Asbestos Abatement Contractor. Submit a copy of
the Asbestos Abatement Contractor's current Asbestos Contractor License issued
by the State of New Hampshire. Submit a written commitment from the Asbestos
Abatement Contractor stating that information requested in Subsection 1.04.B
will be provided in a timely manner and not causing any delay (Submittal #1A).

2. Name, location, and applicable current operating licenses for primary and
secondary landfill for disposal of friable or non-friable asbestos-containing
material or asbestos-contaminated waste. Name and applicable Federal and State

permits for transporter of asbestos waste materials shall be submitted (Submittal
#1B).

Upon receipt of initial notification to perform asbestos abatement work on
undocumented ACM, the Asbestos Abatement Contractor shall submit the following.
No asbestos removal Work activities shall commence until these items are submitted to
and reviewed by the Engineer. Information provided in the Submittals shall be in
sufficient detail to enable the Engineer to identify the particular product or equipment,
and to document conformance of the Submittals with the Specifications. Review by the
Engineer in no way relieves the Contractor of the obligation for each of his submittals.
Each submittal item shall be identified with a cover page or transmittal sheet containing
the listed submittal number presented in the same numerical order as outlined below.

1. Name and experience of proposed Supervisors and Foremen (Submittal #2A).

Note: The Contractor shall submit information for General Superintendent and
Foremen as soon as possible after award of Contract.
