Amended Water or Wetting Agent: Water to which a surfactant has been added
in proportion of at least one ounce surfactant to five gallons water.

Asbestos: The asbestiform varieties of serpentine (Chrysotile), Riebeckite
(Crocidolite), Cummingtonite-Grunerite, Anthophyllite, and Actinolite-Tremolite.
For purposes of determining respiratory and workers protection, both the
asbestiform and non-asbestiform varieties of the above minerals and any of these
materials that have been chemically treated and/or altered shall be considered as
Asbestos.

Asbestos-Containing Materials (ACM): Any building material containing
Asbestos that 1s microscopically detectable in any quantity or potentially
contaminated on the surface or within the component matrix with Asbestos fibers
detectable in any quantity using PLM and or TEM.

Asbestos Waste Material: All Asbestos-Containing or Asbestos potentially
contaminated materials, or other items which have not been Certified Clean as
described herein, and disposed of in accordance with Subsection 3.08 of this
Section. Asbestos waste material may include building materials, insulation,
disposable clothing and protective equipment, plastic sheeting and tape, exhaust
systems or vacuum filters, contractor equipment, or other materials designated by
state or local authorities or the Engineer that are potentially contaminated with
Asbestos and have not been Certified Clean.

Authorized Visitor: The Engineer, testing lab personnel under contract to the
Engineer, or other persons authorized by the Engineer who have proper
certifications, or arepresentative of any federal, state and local regulatory or other
agency having authority over the project.

Baseline or Background Air Monitoring: A measurement or determination of
airborne Asbestos fiber concentrations inside the Work Area or outside a building
prior to starting abatement activities.

Certified Industrial Hygienist (C.I.H.): An industrial hygienist certified in
Comprehensive Practice by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.

Certified Clean: Shall mean that a Work Area or other materials therein has no
visible or microscopically detectable ACM, Asbestos fibrous materials or other
asbestos contamination and, no signs of contamination as confirmed by wipe or
bulk sample analytical results via PLM and/or TEM (if deemed necessary by the
Engineer), and does not have levels of airborne fibers above the defined air
clearance criteria as defined in Subsection 3.12.A.

Class I Asbestos Work: Activities involving the removal of thermal system
insulation, surfacing insulation and Presumed Asbestos- Containing Materials.
