4. Decontaminate and remove all equipment used to perform the Work.
5. Segregate and properly dispose of all contaminated and non-contaminated waste
material.
6. Provide personal protective equipment and decontamination facilities for all
Asbestos Abatement Contractor personnel.
The Contractor shall ensure proper completion of all Waste Shipment Records (WSR) in
accordance with all applicable regulations.

DEFINITIONS RELATIVE TO ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
The following definitions pertain to this Section only and are not applicable to other
Work of the Contract:
1. Abatement Activities: All activities performed to remove all ACM from the
Work Area, from the initiation of Work Area preparation and removal of all
visible and microscopically detectable Asbestos fibers as measured by Polarized
Light Microscopy (PLM) and or Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
followed by successful clearance Air Monitoring performed at the conclusion of
an Asbestos abatement project.
2. Air Lock: A confined space designed to control air movement between two areas.
It is composed of sealed spaces with curtained doorways at its portals. A
Decontamination Facility contains at least three air locks.
3. Air Monitoring: The process of measuring the fiber content of a specific volume
of air.
4. Ambient Air Monitoring: Measurement or determination of airborne Asbestos
fiber concentrations outside but in the general vicinity of the Work Area.
