be accompanied by a written report and will clearly show the condition of the
main and all service connections. Contractor is responsible for any repairs needed
to the CIPP should there exists imperfections or defects in the lining that is
judged by the Engineer to cause any problems with sewer flow such as potential
backups or loss in pipe capacity.
. The contractor shall provide means for cleaning of the pipe which shall be
incidental to the pipe lining.
. Ten (10) percent may be withheld from payment under the item until the CIPP has
satisfactorily videoed to verify it has been installed correctly.
The work shall be paid for at the contract unit price per linear foot under the
series of Items 1k and 1L.
When necessary, prior to pipe lining work, a protruding lateral connection will be
cut and removed using Item In.
CONNECT NEW SEWER TO EXISTING MANHOLE WITH OPENING and
CONNECT TO EXISTING MANHOLE BY CORE AND BOOT:
The quantity of connections from new sewers to existing manholes to be paid for
under this item shall be per each actual connection made. The unit price each
shall constitute full compensation for furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and
materials necessary for making the connections as shown on the drawings and as
specified.
The unit price shall include removing existing stubs, removing existing grout
around the opening, installing a watertight connection, reforming the entire
disturbed bench, floor, and invert; all brickwork, concrete, grout, and other
joining material; excavation, backfill, and all other work necessary to make the
connection.
In cases where a connection is to be made to an existing or new manhole or catch
basin where none exists, then a cored hole and boot will be installed. Work shall
include all materials, equipment and labor to core an opening for a 12-inch pipe
or size shown on the plans.
The work to connect to an existing structure with an existing opening shall be
paid for at the contract unit price per each under Item 1h. The work to connect to
existing structure by providing a new hole (coring or other means) and installing a
boot shall be paid for under Item 1h (1).
